Elected Chief Prosecuting Attorney/Law Director , Fostoria, OH,  1993 to 2008

  • Elected part-time position with a four-year term, requiring re-election campaigning every four years. One of the longest current serving elected city officials. 
  • Litigate all unfair labor practices disputes; negotiate labor contracts; defend the City in all labor related issues.
  • Assist in creating and negotiating all city  contracts, review all legal documents and provide legal advice regarding the negotiations and the drafting of all union contracts and grievances.
  • Advise and represent the Civil Service Commission in certain legal disputes.
  • Draft and review contracts requiring competitive bidding and advise on awarding the contract.

  • Legal adviser to all City employees, council members, elected officials and the administration in regard to all municipal legal      matters.

  • Create all city legislation, including: ordinances, resolutions, tax abatements, annexations petitions.
  • Facilitated the legal process to become a Charter City, including drafting all ordinances to submit issue to voters; guide the Charter Commission in the drafting of the City Charter document itself; draft and submit ordinances required by Board of Elections placing issue of whether to be a Charter City on ballot, which was voted on and passed in the General Election, 2006.
  • Operate and supervise the entire municipal prosecution department, including managing the budget; overseeing three assistant prosecutors; and working directly with the police department to ensure success. 
  • Extensive public speaking engagements on behalf of the City as City Attorney and in campaigning.
  • Assist the City in negotiating economic incentives and coordinate all facets of corporate development to facilitate ease in which new corporations locate within the municipality.

 I am originally from Fostoria, Ohio and reside with my husband Jeff. I have been in the real estate title industry for the past 10 years. I have worked in the Customer Service field for the past 25 years and I truly enjoy working with the public. I have attended several Proactive Seminars through out my working career to extend my level of Customer Service. In my spare time I am the Clerk of Council and secretary for the Civil Service Commission for the City of Fostoria. I have worked with Alicia for the last 6 years and am her legal assistant as well and assist in facilitating the best outcome for our clients. I also enjoy craft shows, flea markets, bowling and fishing on the weekends.
